Below are group rules of one chat group I am running.

Group Rules (Updated: 2026-05-16):

  1. This is a community focused on AI, coding, and lifelong learning. Topics include but are not limited to: AI, LLM, ML, DL, vibe coding, AI tools, AI usage, AI + full stack, AI + various domains, AI + Education, AI + bring kids, English learning, traffic, SEO, user growth, backend, fullstack, iOS, Android, gaming, life hacking, cybersecurity, and beyond.

  2. Firsthand knowledge is most valued here — share your real doubts, requirements, mistakes, experiences, and trial-and-error journeys. Knowledge that conflicts with or improves upon what AI models know is especially welcome, as it helps push the frontier beyond what robots already have.

  3. Please minimize sharing content related to material enjoyments—such as buying homes, upgrading cars, or luxury consumption—to maintain a harmonious group atmosphere and avoid unnecessary comparisons and negative emotions.

  4. Different viewpoints are welcome, but conclusions should be based on experiments, data, and code — raw, unverified observations are not welcome. Claims that strongly conflict with mainstream science (e.g., moon landing conspiracy theories, rejections of relativity) should be taken to direct messages, not promoted in the group. Exception: sharing about reversing myopia is welcome.

  5. This is a distributed group. The group owner is just an initiator and appoints admins to help with management; there is no single authority.

  6. Members treat each other with equality and respect.

  7. We don’t pursue large numbers; the wisdom of a small group is enough to stay ahead of the times.

  8. There are some admin members who help manage the group (e.g., enforce rules, keep discussions on topic). Admins do not add or remove members — that is handled by the group owner.

  9. Topics related to circumvention tools or sensitive politics should be discussed in private chats to remain compliant.

  10. The group is open 24/7; avoid @-mentioning others late at night to reduce notifications.

  11. Low ego — truth-seeking debate is normal; focus on ideas, not people.

  12. Sharing is open by default; please remove sensitive or company information when necessary.

  13. Members are free to leave at any time. Before recommending a new member, please communicate with the group owner in advance; there should be mutual understanding and a basic entry bar.

  14. The group owner adds new members to the group and introduces them with a brief welcome message so everyone knows who has joined and what they bring.

  15. Content shared in the group is, by default, treated as MIT-licensed; members may reuse it for prompts, notes, or derivative work (state exceptions explicitly).

  16. Making mistakes is fine — we encourage it as part of learning, no worries. What is not okay: attacking people or saying very bad things to others, and sending 20 or more messages at once (except the group owner, for operation or sharing needs).

  17. We hope this group remains harmonious and valuable over the long term. Before the group owner adds certain new members, they should briefly inform the existing members and wait for a while before adding them. If any members have objections or there are past conflicts in the IT community, please let the group owner know in advance — they will consider canceling the addition. If you have concerns about certain members or if the content they share is negative or inappropriate, please inform the group owner.

  18. We encourage sharing negative but real content, and we encourage seeking help here. If you lose your job, your company shuts down, housing prices halve, or you face family misfortune — the group owner will do their best to help: sharing their own stories, or rallying group members and friends to support you.

  19. The group owner may share his own messages from this group to other groups for knowledge sharing. This might include references to members’ WeChat display names — apologies in advance. The group owner will protect your privacy when sharing.
